About This Style
Impact was designed by Geoffrey Lee in 1965 as a compressed sans-serif typeface with extreme weight — perfect for headlines, posters, and (as the internet discovered decades later) meme captions. Its thick strokes and tight letter spacing made it the go-to font for top-tier image macros.
This generator produces a style that resembles Impact using Unicode characters. The squared set (🅱🅾🅻🅳) comes closest, with each letter enclosed in a heavy frame that mirrors Impact's blocky robustness. The fullwidth set (ｂｏｌｄ) provides the wide horizontal spread that gives Impact text its authoritative presence. Combining both approaches creates text that reads as intentionally heavy.
Impact text in the Unicode universe works best for short phrases — three to five words maximum. Longer strings lose the condensed impact (pun intended) and become harder to read.
