What is Fancy Text to Normal Text?

Fancy Text to Normal Text replaces supported decorative Unicode letters and numbers with ordinary characters. For example, mathematical bold 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 becomes Hello, and fullwidth ABC becomes ABC. This can make supported styled text easier to edit or search.

It works on characters, not screenshots or the visual font applied by an editor. Some styles lose information: small capitals may not reveal the original case, and arbitrary lookalikes cannot always be reversed. Unsupported characters are kept instead of guessed.

How to turn fancy text into normal text

  1. Paste styled text

Replace the example with up to 2,000 UTF-16 units. Supported mathematical Latin, fullwidth ASCII, enclosed alphanumerics and compatible super/subscript forms are restored automatically.

  2. Choose optional handling

Enable small-cap conversion only when lowercase recovery is acceptable. Enable combining underline and overlay removal if you want to remove the supported decoration marks.

  3. Review and copy

Compare the original with the normal-text result, especially names, mathematical content and unsupported symbols. Use the Copy result card to copy the result for your destination.

What this tool can restore

Supported compatibility forms include mathematical Latin letters and digits, selected script and blackletter symbols, fullwidth ASCII characters, enclosed alphanumerics and compatible superscripts or subscripts. Only supported characters that normalize to ASCII are replaced; a general normalization is not applied to the whole input.

Some styling loses information

Small caps may no longer reveal the original case. Their optional mapping returns the supported forms as lowercase. Mixed alphabets, decorative frames and arbitrary lookalikes cannot always be reversed. This tool preserves unsupported characters rather than guessing what you meant.

Keep emoji and accents intact

Joined emoji, flags, keycaps and emoji-presentation sequences are preserved. An optional setting removes only combining underline and overlay marks U+0332–U+0338, not ordinary accents or all Zalgo marks. Review mathematical content before using it, because removing styling can change meaning.

Frequently asked questions

Can every fancy text style be reversed?

No. Decorative frames, mixed alphabets and arbitrary lookalikes may not have an unambiguous original. The tool restores its supported compatibility forms and preserves unsupported characters.

Will this remove accents or split emoji?

The default conversion preserves ordinary accents and emoji sequences. The optional decoration setting targets combining underline and overlay marks U+0332–U+0338, not every combining mark.

Why do small capitals become lowercase?

The original capitalization is not always recoverable from small-cap characters. The separate optional mapping returns supported small-cap forms as lowercase rather than inventing the original case.

Can it read styled text from an image or PDF screenshot?

No. Paste actual text into the input. This tool does not perform OCR or recognize a font from an image.

Does normalizing mathematical letters always preserve meaning?

No. Styled letters can have specific meanings in mathematics. Review those expressions before using the ordinary-letter result; the tool converts characters without interpreting the expression.
