About this generator

What is the Small Text Generator?

Small text has carved out a niche in online communication because it lets you add a whisper-thin layer of emphasis without shouting. Unicode includes superscript, modifier-letter, and subscript characters β€” plus small-cap-like letters drawn from several blocks β€” that many modern browsers and apps can render. Unlike CSS-based font sizing, these characters remain part of the copied text, although the destination can still reject them or draw them differently.

This small text generator maps each supported letter to a Unicode small-form equivalent. The superscript set (α΅ƒα΅‡αΆœα΅ˆα΅‰αΆ α΅Κ°β±Κ²α΅Λ‘α΅βΏα΅’α΅–Κ³Λ’α΅—α΅˜α΅›Κ·Λ£ΚΈαΆ») covers most lowercase letters plus numerals ⁰¹²³⁴⁡⁢⁷⁸⁹. Subscript (β‚β‚‘β‚•α΅’β±Όβ‚–β‚—β‚˜β‚™β‚’β‚šα΅£β‚›β‚œα΅€α΅₯β‚“) has larger gaps. Small caps (α΄€Κ™α΄„α΄…α΄‡κœ°Ι’ΚœΙͺα΄Šα΄‹ΚŸα΄Ι΄α΄α΄˜Η«Κ€sα΄›α΄œα΄ α΄‘xʏᴒ) combines small-cap-like characters to provide a more consistent display alphabet.

A common gotcha is that the generator does not map every letter in every style. Unicode 17 includes U+107A5 MODIFIER LETTER SMALL Q, but support for this newer character can be limited, so this generator currently keeps q ordinary in superscript output. Subscript b and several other letters still lack direct equivalents used by the tool. If missing letters matter, try small caps or a mathematical alphabet with broader coverage.

Simple workflow

How to use this generator

  1. 1

    Enter text

Type a name, phrase, caption, or heading in the generator.

  2. 2

    Compare styles

Review the 9 page-specific recommendations or choose another style family.

  3. 3

    Copy and test

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does small text work in Discord nicknames?

Yes, Discord supports Unicode superscript, subscript, and small caps characters in both nicknames and chat messages. Keep in mind that very long small-text names may be truncated in the member list.

Why are some letters missing in the small text output?

Unicode does not provide a complete parallel superscript or subscript alphabet, and newer modifier letters may not have broad font support. This generator currently keeps unsupported or compatibility-sensitive letters, including superscript q and subscript b, as ordinary text.

What is the difference between superscript and small caps?

Superscript characters sit above the baseline and are commonly used for footnotes or exponents. Small caps are uppercase-like letters drawn at a reduced size but aligned to the regular baseline. Small caps have better coverage with fewer missing letters.
