Upside Down Text Generator

Upside down text works because Unicode includes a set of "turned" letters — characters that are the regular glyph rotated 180 degrees. These were originally added for transliterating languages like African reference alphabets, but the internet repurposed them for something much more fun: writing messages that look like they fell over.

The mapping is not always symmetrical. Turn an "a" and you get "ɐ" (a turned a). Turn a "b" and you get "q" (because a lowercase b rotated 180 degrees looks like a q). Some letters, like "l" and "x", look the same right-side up and upside down — they are rotationally symmetrical. Others, like "c" turned 180°, become "ɔ" (an open o).

The output looks most convincing in all-lowercase contexts, because the uppercase set has a few letters (B, H, I, N, S, X, Z) that do not change when flipped — they are symmetric.
