Italics Font Generator

Italic text in Unicode comes from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Yes, the name says "mathematical" — but the letters (𝑎𝑏𝑐𝑑𝑒𝑓𝑔) look exactly like the italic type you would use for emphasis in a sentence. The lowercase set is nearly complete, and the uppercase set (𝐴𝐵𝐶𝐷𝐸𝐹𝐺) covers every letter.

The important distinction here is between Unicode italic and faux italic. When an app or website applies font-style: italic via CSS, that formatting disappears the moment you copy and paste the text somewhere else. Unicode italic letters are actual characters, so they travel with the text. This makes them ideal for situations where you cannot control the formatting — social media bios, chat messages, forum posts, and anywhere rich text is not an option.

One quirk: the Unicode italic block does not include italic digits. Numbers in italic mode fall back to regular digits, which is fine for most use cases. If you need italic numbers, you can combine italic letters with regular numbers — the visual mismatch is minor and often goes unnoticed.
