Zalgo tips & compatibility

Heavy results can overlap or be rejected by the destination app; start mild for names and chat. Emoji and complex scripts stay unchanged. None or no directions returns your original input. It does not remove accents or clean previously pasted Zalgo text. Text is processed in your browser.

About this generator

What is the Zalgo Text Generator?

Zalgo text stacks Unicode combining marks around letters to make them look corrupted, haunted, or unstable. The marks travel with the copied characters; this is not an image filter or a downloadable font. This tool offers a controlled range from a light accent to a dense stack.

Control the effect

Compare None, Mild, Medium, Strong, and Extreme together, then copy any result card. Advanced settings provide a separate custom result with intensity from 0 to 10. Above and Below can each add up to ten marks to a supported character; Through letters adds at most two overlays so the middle does not become an uncontrolled pile. Disable any direction independently in Advanced settings; directions apply to every result. Randomize marks changes their selection without changing your input or settings.

Zalgo versus light glitch text

Our Glitch generator offers a fixed, readable corruption effect alongside slash, monospace, and other tech-inspired styles. This Zalgo page focuses on controlling the amount and placement of combining marks. For a readable cyberpunk label, try Glitch; for a rising, falling, or heavily corrupted line, use the controls here.

Keep the output manageable

The tool accepts up to 1,000 input characters and works on Latin letters, digits, and basic punctuation. It keeps spaces, line breaks, emoji, and complex scripts intact. Existing dense combining-mark clusters are left unchanged. None or disabling all directions restores the original input for this session; it does not strip marks from previously pasted Zalgo text. Heavy output can clip, overlap, or be rejected by a destination field. Keep essential content in plain text and use the effect for short decorative phrases.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Zalgo text an image or a font?

Neither. It is plain Unicode text with combining marks attached to supported characters. You can copy the result, but the destination font controls its appearance.

How do I make the text less glitchy?

Lower the intensity, use Mild, or turn off mark directions. None returns your original input. These controls do not remove marks that were already present in pasted text.

Why does Zalgo look different after I paste it?

Apps and fonts position combining marks differently. Some clip tall stacks, normalize characters, reject marks, or apply spam filters. Try a lower intensity and a shorter phrase.

Does it work on emoji and every language?

This generator deliberately preserves emoji and complex scripts. It decorates supported Latin letters, digits, and basic punctuation without splitting grapheme clusters or stripping original accents.
